In May, AEP - Associação Empresarial de Portugal celebrated its 176th anniversary with a special ceremony at its headquarters in Porto, which paid tribute to companies, personalities and institutions that have stood out for their contribution to the national economy.

The companies that have been members for five decades, JPS Cork Group, Socitrel and Mecanarte, received recognition for their longevity and impact. The distinction of Honorary Member was awarded to INESC-TEC, European Commissioner Elisa Ferreira and Francisco Pinto Balsemão, figures renowned for their dedication to innovation, the economy and public service.

Since 1849, AEP has remained firm in its mission: to support the development of industry, train professionals and enhance the Portuguese business community. With almost two centuries of activity, it continues to be a driver of growth and a strategic partner for the national economy.
